There may be more than these questions later...
But looking at a 69 bay to buy.
It is a LHD, was in Europe for a while before being shipeed to the US. While in Europe, it was made as a Dormobile,
The model is said to be SO 69/7 which is the Amsterdam model.
According to one source, the layout is: ( note tire location)

However in a pic of the bus, the rear is such.

Here the spare tire is not present, nor a space for it.
The spare tire is mounted to the front of the bus, .. in Dave Eccels book, "VW Camper, the inside story" I thought he said certain buses which were designated to have the tire mounted in the front, did not have placement for it in the rear. I went through the book briefly again, but could not find that sentence...like a needle in a haystack.
Any thoughts? I am a stickle for being stock as much as possible.
Everything else seems to be there.

Am curious, how does one get up on those cots?

I can guess, but for a cool box, I guess the idea is to put ice or icepack in the bottom .. or top? of the shelf, to keep the fridge cool? Wonder how efficient that is. Well at the most ,woud be one overnight trip in this.. I have another camper where I go on longer trips.

Also, I am looking for any LHD dormobile for sale, preferable a walk thru, 1969 or so is the latest I would go, so I prefer earlier, in good shape. if you know of any, please pass it on to me, would be greatly appreciated!
As far as I can tell, i have exhausted all options to where to find one..

Yes, these models are essentially Westfalias with Dormobile roofs. I can’t recall how they came about , maybe it was just buses that were originally tin tops but subsequently required a pop top?
Regarding the spare wheel , I presume the spare wheel well will be under the cushion and just covered over? It’s a walkthrough so it should be there.

Thank you for your reply
I thought if the spare tire was meant for the cargo area, the metal would have a dip to help hold the tire in place.

From what I read, it seems Westfalia made dormobil tops .............below you can see the dormobile windows in the top of the bus on the right.

How many belly pans were welded to the bottom of a dormobile bus?
