Quick wire question

Can anyone advise what rating wire this is (the broken bit that doesn't quite reach to where it should...)

(Its the wire that takes power to front of bus to power everything except starter motor.

I believe it is 6.0mm2 rather than 6awg.

6mm^2 seems right to me too, though I haven't looked it up.

The wire broke and ring connector dissolved into several corroded green parts, so am planning to cut wire back to fresh copper, and attach
short piece of new wire to regain the length. I am not sure yet how to join the wires ?

or a copper butt connector insulated with couple of heat shrink wraps

The new solenoid is smaller - so wire has further to reach than before, so even without the breakage it would need extending
