Rear belt mount thread size ?

Hi All

Lazy question -sorry. Anyone know the thread size for the seat-belt mount
on the rear wheel arch. I need to get a TAP to clean mine out and I had it in mind that it was an unusual size.

I am sure they are not metric, I think Imperial, something like 9/16th's maybe.

They are a fine thread too

I though they were metric (M10) but with a finer that usual thread (1mm ?)

I thought all bolts/nuts/threads on VW's is metric? I was always under the impression that the only item in imperial was the wheels?

Waiting with baited breath hear as I have the same problem and need this info: a tube of smarties for the one that comes up with the size!
