Ok, not my bus , but a good friend has (for his sins!) a late bay. It's a '76 Riviera US import. It went into the garage for the rear brakes to be sorted, new wheel cylinders went on fine, but they have not been able to match the shoes. The local GSF have supplied all their variations with no luck. The guys at the garage are not daft, I've known them for years and if they say they don't match, then they don't match. All the catalogues show the same year variations, in this case it should be the '73 to '79 type ('76, slap in the middle!) Anyone got any ideas? Need to resolve this asap, the old contaminated shoes have been cleaned up for now, but are very worn and plenty of trips are planned! Thanks.

Slight egg on face here, bit premature posting a problem! Have just spoken to the lads at the garage and the problem is not that the shoes are wrong as such, but that on the old ones the handbrake arm is not removable from the shoe (ie have to grind the pivot off) and the new ones don't come with replacement pivot pins/clips. Relevant parts now on way.....
Thanks anyway
Araon, not looked myself, but not aware of anyone local who can re-line shoes. Not like the old days, just get the linings and a bag of brass rivits. So my Dad said

Yeah getting the linnings isnt an issue to be honest, I dont fancy relinning them myself, it used to be a lot cheaper to pop in and get then relined within a couple of mins, atleast you know the parts gonna fit without issue....

I may just look into it more.....
