I've lowered the rear of my bus with Transporterhaus adjustable spring plates and I have about 1.5cm of clearance between the lower cup & the bump stop. I've not driven it yet, but this doesnt look right to me - it's got to have some downward suspension travel?

What's recommended here? Cut a ring off the bump stop & leave 2 rings remaining?

Good, I thought so.

What's an acceptable amount of travel how many inches?

Is one cut enough or should I go for two?

Cut off one. If you find that it's not enough they are easy enough to remove to cut off a second. Make sure that your shocks are not compressing fully before you bottom out on the bump stops ... otherwise you will be damaging your shocks.
