Wow what a good site this is only just found it having had my bay since Nov. I must say the gallery has realy made me think anything is possible. I have bought some gen VW rear corners for my bay as one is a bit rusty and the other has had a poor repair after a large dent. The corners are the large rear lights. Has anyone changed the complete corner and if so is it difficult. I have been advised to cut the panel in half and leave the top and only change the bottom.
I will post pics soon. I have been sweating buckets cutting and about ready to put the new bits on now so will probably be asking lots of advice. Does anyone with resto experience live in the West Sussex area!!!!!!

Cheers Betsy

It is a good idea to only use the amount of new panel that you have to.So find out where the clean metal ends on your corner,go up a bit further and draw a line there.Cut the new panel to match.

Hello Betsy, welcome to Early Bay.
I need to replace the complete off-side rear corner on my van as well.
I going to try and cut the old panel off to the panel seam and use the original spot weld holes. That's the plan anyway. :?

I've got the opposite corner to this one. Might leave the finish like it is for the time being.

Fitted NOS rear corner on mine.Try not to go to the seam near rear 1/4 window because once it's in place you can't spot weld it as the bit you need to weld is inside the rear corner and also you can't seam seal the joint. It would be easier to cut it short of seam and joddle an the edge.Hope it makes sense if not give me a bell.
