As the title says really.
I went to change the rear dampers tonight, the bolts came out ok. When I came to refit the top bolt the thread wouldn't catch, upon further inspection I've found the threads have been damaged when I removed the bolt  There's not chance of tapping them as I've already tried.
I was thinking of buying a longer bolt and nut, and drilling though the one in the chassis. Cutting off the old one and welding a new one back on is risky as the fuel lines and tank are close by.
Has anyone had this issue, and what did they do to fix it? Just trying to avoid any pitfalls before I go any further.
Thanks for your help,
Rich.
