Rear hub nut question

I'll need to take my rear hubs apart soon. Can the rear hub nut be loosened when the rear is jacked up or is that a no no?

No mate, it is torqued to :shock: and is a pain to get off at the best of times.

Mine were a right pain to get off, ended up buying 2 og hub nuts then cut off the old ones.

Loosen it first with the vehicle's weight on the wheels. Easier said than done though.... :lol:

Breaker bar with a scaffolding tube on the end should give you enough leverage.

Can't remember the torque, 300 I think I'd have to look it up, not my favourite job :lol:
