Hi guys ..

I'll try and explain this as best i can but bare with me ..

When you remove the spring plate cover and drop off the spring plate on the rear suspension ..
there is a 'frame' that holds the bump stop and rest against the L shaped bracket on the chassis ..

How does this frame come off so I can repair the chassis bracket?

I haven't tried yet, i just can't seem to see mention of its removal in any manual ..

If im not being clear tell me and I'll try again!

thanks

Hilly

Hi Hilly
It doesn't come off ,I have done the same/similar repair and had to chop a larger section of chassis out.
Not the easiest of jobs because you can't get the grinder in because of the 'frame' your looking to remove.
This is how i tackled it.....As you can see where i cut the chassis out its all over the place, because you can't get the right angle with a grinder

Bugger!

I was afraid that was the answer! :?

Thanks dude .. Is the bracket welded to the frame then?

Cheers

Hilly

PS .. great design eh .. recessed to hold water till it rots the chassis!

There's one big spot weld right on the top of the bracket,if you look at the pic of my bracket you can see the hole where I ripped it off
Your right about it being a water trap , they changed it on later bays and removed the frame
So it can't have been doing a great deal in the first place
