Hello all

I have a sloppy steering box, barely scrapped though the MOT and the other day sh@t my pants as I turned the wheel and the bus did'nt turn!

So I have been looking around for an Early bay steering box and I know they are like rocking horse poo, but is there a way I can reconidition mine?

I understand there is a worm screw inside that wears in one place.

Anyone know where I can get this done, or do I have to pay the £300 for a new / recon one.

Thanks in advance

Greg

Also - does anyone know where I can get the components from like the gaskets etc?

Ta muchly.

There is no gasket on the steering box IIRC just a seal round the shafts , also i think there is a firm in CHARLTON (safff london) who recondition them. Don't be tempted with grease filled one from that other supplier (MB)
