How much force does it take to shear a bolt of that spec.? M12 8.8 (IIRC)

im told its over 100 tonnes.

AFAIK the engine on the airbus 747 is held on by one bolt! .

I've started fitting my Red9 shocks and need some advice...

...what is the easiest way to get the lower shock mounting onto its bolt shaft (the shaft that's connected to the lower torsion arm)? It's just about slid on, but I can't get it on any further to get the nut on the end.

There must be a method?

Fine emery paper on the shaft, give it a good clean until the bush slips on easily.

(Yeah, I know)
