Hi folks :)

I'm in the process of removing my beam to fit a narrowed one.

My current beam has a servo mounted master cylinder which is not correctly wired up, it appears that due to a change of carb the servo has been bypassed.

My new beam has no mount for the servo, i could have the mount welded on but I feel this is a bit pointless if the servo is not connected up and i have no plans to connect it up as I'm using a Progressive Webber.

I have seen the holes for mounting a non servo MC...

If a buy a non servo MC i would have to replace the front hard pipes as they would be too short, is that correct?

would i also have to replace the rear lines?

what else would i need to do?

Thanks,
Michael.

If you can go for a servo it will be a more pleasant ride, however, I have no servo and CSP discs and it stops well.

You may need to extend or change the hard lines but try the new non servo disc mc first. I had to extend one hardline.

Hi Mikey,

I can't help with your query I'm afraid  but I'd be interested in your servo m/c if you don't plan on putting it back :D . Let me know if/when it's up for grabs and how much you'd want for it...

its a completely different drive with a servo ,if it was me i`d fit it ,pretty sure you can get a vaccum signal from a progressive although they are not the best carb in the world anyway

yeah think i'll have the bracket welded on and look at connecting up the servo at a later date.

i find it depends who sets the carb up makes a big difference! ;)

Brake servos are supplied with vac from the manifold and are nothing whatsoever to do with carburettors.

as Trikky says ^^^^ the near side inlet manifold has the extra bit that can be drilled & tapped for the servo/vac
