With my resto only a few weeks away now, who would you guys recommend for repair panels?

I don't need much - the bus is in pretty good fettle, but I do need to repair around the wondscreen and also the lower front panel.

Who would be best for repro, should I go for rust free import?

Thoughts appreciated.

Jon

If found that all the repro panels are pretty much the same.I've used them from Just Kampers,Vw Heritage and Schofields and they're all pretty much the same for repro stuff. No one makes good quality perfect fitting panels I've found, especially front arches.

But for what you need on the front panel you'd be best using repro panels as you'd need a front clip unless someone has some left over which is unlikely as the bits you're doing are the bits that go the most.I've tended to use VW Heritage the most recently, but it won't really matter really.

i've never used repro panels for any car that have a factory fit, none. all require fettling etc. i always make the panel fit the car, not the other way round, which is obvious really? when i replaced my front arches purchased from schofields, no slant on them, they simply supplied them. i had to cut them into 3 pieces to make them fit/align properly then weld them all up again. it's no sweat really, just what has to be done.

Cheers guys....

What I thought really, I want as little as possible to be repro, but see little opition for what I need. Thankfully I don;t need to do things like arches and sills etc.

I'm prepared for a bit of fitting but just wondered if anyone stood out...

These guys were starting to make bay panels and there stuff is supposed to be the best you can buy, their web site shows bays as a section but no panels maybe worth contacting them.

Schofields make themselves some bent bits of tin for windscreen surround repair. I bought some for mine but I didn't do this bit myself so I can't vouch for the 'fit' I'm afraid.

Cheers
