I've bought some of these

The thread that screws into the door barely goes in 2 threads before it bottoms out against the locking nut, im not happy with that and the threads are really ****

Any body else had this problem :?

Yes, all repro door mirrors do this.

Unfortunately not recently, I bought a couple of pairs about 4 years ago.
They occasionally come up on here and other forums though.

Yep i thought that they do a production run every now and again when the demand is high enough - if so then it must be time?

Yes. I too have had this. That said its sat there on my bus for about 4 years. The chrome goes rusty and the stalks chrome has all but fallen off. However I did knock it getting it out the garage this weekend. It fell off because of the crap tread.
