Wonder if you can help me out guys?
When I start the engine it runs on choke and will only go to idle once you give it one big rev then it's fine. Also if I am to drive the bus for a good while and it's more than warm, if i turn it off and start it again the choke kicks in once more.

Thanks.

fella the symptoms you are describing are quite normal, thats if i read your post correctly.

The choke when you start is on a rathet on the left as you look at it , when the elec choke is ready to turn it wont be able to until you open the throttle to release it, which you would be doing whilst under normal driving conditions, i am not often right on here but just to let you know that the choke on a Pict has nowt to do with engine temp ie mechanically as its purely electric.
When you get the bus up to temp and restart after a bit the elec choke has " cooled off" and therefore has to run through its cycle again.
start the bus cold and check out whats happening out back its a clever design really.

Delete all above if we not talking about a stock carb

Some clever dude will be along to explain in more detail i am sure and say that i know bugger all

I wouldn't think the choke would come back on when it's hot though...would it?

i get your idea fella but the choke isnt thermostatically controlled directly by engine temp, go have a looksi , youll work it out matey. :D

john the horse. wow that sounded a but professional

Mine does EXACTLY the same.

Glad it's sounds normal.

Aye well explained there John.....

once the electric element has cooled the choke will come back into play

Its official.

i answered a post and lucky for me came up with the right answer.

LOWS toft

Mine does the same thing.

I was chatting with the guys at JK about it and he said that it sounds like the throttle is sticking. Hey presto, a squirt of WB4o and it's fixed the problem.
