i'm not sure how many people on this forum will be familiar with chewy these days as he was a more prominent figure in the vw world from the late nineties to early two thousands but i'm pretty sure a fair few of you will recognise the samba he built;

not the best pic, but the only one i could find! he was a big man with an even bigger heart. a family man that liked nothing better than a good party with his friends. in more recent years he's been a dominating presence in the uk lowrider scene. if you've seen any of the lowrider displays at run to the sun, bristol volksfest, and especially bug jam then you've been watching his work in more than half of those cars! if he hadn't built or owned them then he'd usually had a hand in fixing them or getting them finished!

unfortunately after an allergic reaction to the anesthetic he was given before what should have been a routine hernia operation, he passed away late on friday night. a tragic loss of an awesome character, a loving father of 3 young girls, and an adoring husband. i'm sure there must be a few people on here that at some point, at some show somewhere he's given advice or a helping hand to, and it would be great if you could show your love back by making a donation to his funeral fund, however small they'll all be equally appreciated. link to donate below

Very sorry to hear the sad news, puts work issues into perspective.

I was lucky enough to meet Chewy a few times through a mate of mine who restored my van, he has also done some the low rider paint jobs, Chewy's being one of them.

A real tragedy for all of his loved ones and friends, thoughts out to all :(
