Keep getting tempted by roof ladders. We have a 3 bow rack and it could be useful. But having never used one or see one get used are they "fit for purpose" I keep thinking if I tried hauling my big fat arse up one that my weight would dint the panels.

Anyone got any feedback - are some types better than others eg. Those that rest on the wheel. ???

I have a full length roof rack, I open either cab door, stand on the wheel arch & haul myself up, no need for ladders :)

I like the look of ladders but to me it seems like one more thing to carry & store. I have a bike rack so can't have a fixed one.

Front roofrack easy access by standing on wheel arch.
I use a folding directors chair to reach my rear rack - standing on both arms. Thus also fulfilling an aim to have 2 uses for everything I take with me.

Phil.

I think a roof ladder is very cool. As has been said one more thing to store so a milk crate with a piece
of wood screwed to it serves as ladder, container and engine compartment seat
Very important that last one.
