Got a couple more hours in today :D
Put the front section back on using stainless steel fixings and fitted the rear short strip to the roof before the light started going :roll:
Using some nice little self drilling screws into the same holes as the old ones - but a lot easier to fit .
Hoping to get home early 2moro and get the rest on :D

Where did you get the canvass from mate.... Ive got to replace my turret top canvass so any suggestions please

i got it from http://www.germancampercompany.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Although they are offline till May

So I have to ask going to replace the shag? or leave it with the 1970's? This is a great thread (I Love pictures!) Did you have help with the roof sections what were the pains? and not so apparent pains you thought you'd have?

Hiya Eddie
No real problems, you need help lifting the roof on and off, and allow plenty of time to do it!
Mine was off for about 2 weeks, but have a cover which kept the weather outof the bus !
Bit of a pain getting the screws out of the ally strip / roof - especially a coupleat the front which i had to cut in the end! :evil:
Top tip tho is if your fitting a new canvas then cut the old one, remove the roof and then you can get to the screws :msn4:
Also with the roof off its a lot easier to fix the canvas to the top while its on the floor.

I had probs with the canvas in the pics so ended up returning it and now have a wolfsburgwest one which is shown in one of my other posts somewhere ;)

Hi, read your thread with great interest. Took my early bay to a man today to see about getting the rear roof section under the luggage rack re-sprayed. I will also be wanting to re-paint my luggage rack & poptop. Let me know how well your lovely roof weathers. I am interested in how well the paint stands up to the British weather??
:shock:
