Roughly how much is a full body respray for a tin top van? The body work isn't that bad so its pretty much a rub down then apply paint (I know its not that simple really!) can't afford it now...Just plannin ahead..Cheers

This is a hard one as it varies so much in cost and quality. From experience the minimum it will be for an external paint only it will be £1000.Full baremetal and filler work to get it straight could be around £3000 upwards.Changing panels and welding will soon add up too.

I'm at this very stage at the moment, my van was fully rubbed back, primerd inside and out and painted again inside and out with 2 colours, no welding required! My bill is £2000 give or take a little!

Defo agree, you should expect to pay around the £3000 mark for a top notch spray job. 8)

Remember the more work the paint shop has to do the higher the labour costs are so strip the van to component level yourself doors off locks off wiper blades, bumpers, etc...do you need the inside doing then cards, dash and furniture out etc... engine bay drop your engine your self and if you really want to save time rub it back yourself.....

this should get you nearer the 2k level but again thats dependant on the individual shop some of my qoutes were ffffing ridiculous....

i thought you liked the patina of your bus?

i often regret getting mine resprayed

so think long and hard

plus tidying and blending rusty bits might be a bit cheaper?

I do love the patina mate and with this I am just thinking a few years ahead when the patina could have turned to rust...I do have some bits and bobs of rust so I need to practice those blending skills!. However my roof is looking rough and hopefully a few hundred quid should sort this out.

Thanks for your input chaps - all good advise as ever.
