I think they have moved it from Bidford up the road to near Coughton Court. 2 reasons..........a taxi driver has mullered the bridge and made it impassable and the Bidford site won't allow BBQ's/Fires anymore!

I only live 4 or 5 minutes from Coughton Court. Where "near" Coughton Court is it?
Is this an informal meet up or are there vendors, buses for sale etc?

What does the RSVP stand for in this context?

No stall etc, just cars and vans.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Change of venue for the RSVP BBQ/Social on Sunday 22nd September 2024.

We have been forced to change the venue for our annual BBQ due to the old bridge in Bidford-Upon-Avon being damaged by a careless/incompetent Uber driver a few weeks ago. The bridge is currently impassable by car and the diversion in place is huge.

So we have spoken to the campsite we are stopping at the night before, Heart of England Caravanning and Camping in Coughton and they have kindly agreed to let us hold the event there instead.

As we are now not at the Big Meadow in Bidford, we can now have our usual BBQ! So bring any food you’d like to cook and pop it on the communal BBQ. The campsite is not in walking distance to any shops, so remember to bring your food and drink with you please.

The start time for the day will still be 10am and the cost will be £5 per vehicle (cheaper than the normal venue!), payable on the gate upon arrival. Please pay with cash as no card machine will be available.

PLEASE NOTE: There are 2 ways to get to the campsite/venue, one of which involves driving through a ford which may not be suitable for some vehicles. The alternative route is much safer, so please plan your journey accordingly. We will post up a map showing the routes available.

We still have camping places available for the evening before (21st September 2024), so why not make a weekend of it. The camping cost is £16 per vehicle or tent and that price will now include the £5 entry for the BBQ on the Sunday, bonus! To secure your booking Paypal to: [email protected] stating your full name and vehicle reg number. Please send payment as friends/family thanks.

Sounds absolutely fab, unfortunately I’m double booked a,ready with Techenders or even with Weobly Castle on the same weekend. I’ll need A decent Chrimbo break to revitalise and get my stuff together again ready for the next year.

I wouldn't call a 10-12 minute reroute, down to Welford on Avon, cross the river and back, a huge diversion but each to their own.

There is a Waitrose in Alcester, a few minutes from Coughton if anyone needs last minute supplies.
