Hi,

This is my first post (well, technically my second) here, so be gentle :)

I have a '71 Westy with badly worn seat covers. I got a sample of TMI material which matches the colour and copies the basketweave reasonably ok but it doesn't have the little pinholes that the original has. I reckon that the pinholes make it more breathable so I'd be keen to find as close a match as I can to the original.

So - can anyone recommend a better original looking seat cover than the TMI material?

Thanks in advance

I covered my seats with TMI covers and the result is Ok, they look pretty neat, but a good set of OG ones would be a lot nicer if you can find them.
I guess the holes are there as the OG stuffing is coir and it might need to breath, I was recommended foam padding with the TMI covers which I used but doesn't quite give a nice tight finish of the OG ones.

Thanks - that makes sense about the coir. I reckon my chances of getting OG covers for an early bay in the right colour for less than the price of a house are fairly slim

How does the foam compare with the coir for support and comfort on long journeys? Does the lack of breathability with the TMI covers cause 'sweaty back syndrome'?

Even the original covers with holes cause sweaty back syndrome - its plastic

My experience is that with bay seats you have to choose. Originality or comfort. (that applies to the whole seat - not just the material
