Hello

Something for discussion looking to buy something just to put in my camper to add a bit of security to it and was wondering what everyone uses and would recommend please ?

It is garaged over night but when I take it out on hols etc just want something to deter anyone from helping themselves to it.

Many Thanks

Simon

I have a locking Berg shifter and an UberSecure pedal lock when we are away camping - in a locked camera secured garage when at home!

Berg locking shifter, uber pedal lock, wheel clamp, battery isolator, cheap alarm, large pick axe handle :)
GF says I'm paranoid as I drive round looking for parking spaces for ages that I'm happy with then just worry all the time we're out, knobs with car doors, vandals, **** drivers.............. I'll stay in.

old fashioned german manufactured steering wheel lock, cobra alarm and a tracker style device if the worst happens anyway!

German shepherd normally works, really she's a softy but don't tell everyone.

Get a tracker, but remember if you need to use it, your bus has been nicked :( With immobilizers (fuel, ignition etc. ) you can't see them from the outside, but fit them of course.

You need to something they can see, if if looks like hard work they'll move off, hopefully :|
As has been said a pedal box lock and get some hiz vis devises like these or similar.

If you put a wheel clamp on the back wheel and turn your steering before your steering lock goes on, they will need a lorry with a Hi-ab, if they turn up with one of them, you'll find out if your tracker works

Why didn't I buy my bus years ago !?

I have a tracker, pedal lock and a wheel lock. If they get past all of that and are happy that if I ever meet them what i will do to them. Then take my pride and joy. I think of it as one of my children.

“I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my van poppy go now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.”

Oh the best part of working for the government :)

Uber pedal lock, wheel clamp (deterrent value), battery isolator, tracker.

Bought a disklok but even the largest size won't fit an og steering wheel, so that went back on ebay recently.

man all this talk about nicking vans, man it would be a dream come true if somebody stole mine, agreed valuation and all.
thats if they could get it to roll that is.

anyway hidden kill switch is a simple one and free.
i find that making it look total bollocks normally deters even the most hardened of secondhand bay window parts providers, sorry i meant thieves, got the two mixed up. :msn4:

take a wheel of is any easy one too.

Yeah, every time I hear of a van stolen, I'm reminded of a photo of hundreds of spare doors lined up on one of the parts suppliers!

Got an uber pedal lock and battery isolator.

I couldn't be bothered with wheel locks, because I want to actually drive it about. I'm looking at trackers, but not sure how much use a GPS tracker will be. Once it's stored in a lock up or somewhere with poor mobile phone signal it won't work. But at £20 what's to loose?

Well that's my uber lock ordered for starters.

Thanks for everyone's advice.

This padlock fits the uber lock, just so you don't have to buy three different locks to find one suitable :)
