Evening All,

I've been looking to buy my first camper and have been searching high and low for around 2 months now. The problem is i'm pretty specific to what I want, an Early bay, westfalia interior (hasn't got to be perfect, will probably recover anyway) pop top, with decent paintwork and almost perfect body/chassis condition, pref the later 'pancake' engine (heard theyre better in buses). Plus I want all this for under £10k! Is all of this even achievable? Am I just being too picky?

I don't want to rush into buying anything but I've just been looking on the internet so far, should I go and look at some just to get a feel of what I should be looking for?

Don't really know where to go from here!

Any comments appreciated!

Matt

Don't compromise, the right van will turn up eventually...

^^^WHS, never compromise, keep looking and your dream bus will be out there somewhere. Good luck and let us all know how you get on.

Thanks for the replies, so I guess I'm not being unrealistic in what i want? It is affordable within my budget? I've seen plenty of vans that (to me) look over priced, £16/17k seems more like splitty money to me, but I may be wrong :)

A little bit of compromise is ok, I'm a new owner myself and was looking for a van for a few months, not quite the same budget as you. I had been to view a dozen or so vans and covered a few thousand miles but none of them were quite right.

Eventually I saw a fresh import for half your budget which was in need of some love (cosmetically), but there and then I knew that was the bus I was having, rewired the lights Put it in for a MOT today passed first time, now I have quite a lot of my original budget left. So I'm glad I compromised a bit on what I was looking for.

PM me if you want, as I know of a bus that sounds what your after, if not already sold,
