As fitted to this.

Dropped spindles and low profile tyres and it would practically be on the floor :) - I'm saving for the spindles now, with the intention of tubbing the wheelarches.

Can anyone see a problem removing the 2" from either side?

hi ballbag
I removed 1 1/2 inch from here "Red bits" inserted tubes for extra strength and offset the cuts from the top/bottom tube

looks like tofufi did his the same way.

Gonna start the welding maybe tomorrow, maybe thursday.

I'm gonna weld it back together and then cut the other side. My side plates will hopefully be here for friday so I can start getting it all back together.

Looking good so far ;)
I have an old beam & a set of plates in the garage so looking on keenly to glean any useful tips.
One question I did have was whether there is an outer lip on the end of the beam tubes to hold the cups on?
If there is do you not need to put the beam plates on from the inside rather than the outside (does that make sense?) ??

The cups come off with a little tap on the side :)

that looks perfect, i have a 4" beam sitting, waiting to go in, in the near future.

Mine on 3.75" narrowed but close enough ;)

so to replace the end plates do you cut the existing ones off on the inside edge of where the current plate meets the tube or do you cut the plate off around the tube then tidy it up? Does that make sense? :?

To replace the end plates you remove the old ones completely and tidy up the old welds.

Have a look here on picture 14 & 15.

And here's the other side prepared ready for welding tomorrow

The bits you see on the middle pic are the bits I cut out, I have sliced these and inserted them into the tubes for a little more strength.

I must say I'm very pleased up to now and my end plates came today too 8)
