Our sliding door has never closed properly and needs a good shove inwards on the back edge of the door with the right hand.

Does anyone have an idiots guide to setting the door up properly to close as it should? I'll then pass it onto the "idiot" ;)

When you close door you need to lift handle up to bring back edge in

Check this out http://www.ratwell.com/technical/SlidingDoor.html#adjust" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

glad someone has the same issue as me, still haven't got around to adjusting it properly and it's only getting worse!

Thanks for the link but it doesn't really say much about adjustment.

As someone mentioned in a previous post you need to pull up the handle to pull the rear in. It's like a double catch. When you close the door it latches and will stay shut but when you pull the handle up it clicks the lock cam at the rear another notch and this pulls the door in to the body.

Could be a couple of things. The rear latch plate needs adjusting in towards the van but do it a little at a time or you run the risk of it over latching and it won't unlock again. The other thing could be the rods that run inside the sliding door but that is a fairly technical to do properly. Bentley manual covers it

Wow never knew that, just refitted mine with new seals and the back does stick out a little, didn't know you had to pull up, although it explains why the indent for the handle is upwards

Is this the Bentley manual I need?

took a while to load but got it now...

Thanks very much. :D

I (well James Wooton) found the issue with mine...

It has the wrong striker plate on the sliding door, it had a striker plate from a front door on it, which are slightly less offset.

Or at least I hope that's the problem as the part should arrive today :)
