Been working on an early Bay that had brake failure / crash.... :(

Found that a previous owner has had the drums skimmed, but has gone MUCH further than the VW spec' for skimming brake drums. So these are toast and the bus has very poor brakes.

BUT no one seems to stock them / all on back order etc. etc.

Put a wanted on here or vzi. Or search eBay. Failing that try some of the parts places like FBI etc. Also state if you need wide 5 or 112pcd drums. Someone will have some stashed away.

I have my old front drums if you need them Jim :)

They are pretty much complete other than the wheel bearings.

Its an early Bay, so 205pcd.

Will look into GSF. Hadn't even tried them as usually they're pretty rubbish.

What do you want for your old fronts? Have they been skimmed in the past?

I don't think they've been skimmed before, certainly not since I've owned the bus, and they worked really well too.
I'll pm you later with pics Jim.
