As i turned 50 over the weekend , my thoughts turned to old friends and as is my way i decided to make contact with a few on eb .

I posted on of my usual banter type threads referring to the usual subject highlights and lowlights etc , i was hoping for a bit of early / late friendly banter and only friendly banter .

since i have made a few friends on here and recieved a welcome albeit of a luke warm type , i thought we could start the season with a smile , apparantly not , i mortally upset your mods and a couple of members , who chose to lock the link cos we were not behaving in the appropriate manner !.

I am always careful not to be rude , not swear and not be personel and i was'nt in that thread , others may have been i was not will try never to be

i enjoy both forums and hope i have not made too many enemys over here.

I am so sorry to have caused upset ,but i am sure a lot more quieter members enjoyed the smiles and took it in the manner it was intended --- banter .

keep up the good work eb you are a good bunch with a helpful and friendly site

Happy Birthday

No offence really either caused or taken. These things have a habit of getting out of hand, and frankly have been done to death a bit now, after a couple of comments from members to this effect I took the decision to lock the threads.
The Late Bay forum was great to us here when we had forum problems and the camaraderie between us all remains and should be cherished ... as within all areas of the VW scene. Lets keep it that way.

I look forward to your ongoing input on here.

In fact I think you should see more young folk smoking pipe these days. My Father, bless him, were 35 when he quit smoking and I remember all he smoked were pipe......anyone out there under 35 smoke pipe now...noooo.

Malc, belated Happy Birthday wishes fella!
I for one see it as a bit of good humoured banter. Managed to meet up with Hailfrank and the Alldubzclub for a half hour or so on Sunday, damn good time had by all, early/late and air/wasser cooled. The way it should be as far as I'm concerned.
