split's are for folk who want to get noticed in pub car parks. Early bays are for people with taste who want to use them, late bays are for them without taste :p t25 onwards are vans. To be honest I'd have anything slammed. Just seem they always a early bays so far.

Really wanted a split panel van until I drove one, if I had the spare cash and space I'd still buy one though together with a beetle.

Splits are for hair gel using posing scene kids in tight jeans and aliry trainers that think everything has to be scraping along the ground and handle like a turd.

Holding back a bit there, but I think I can get your drift...!

aside (but it's relevant, bear with me :) ), but was chatting to a mate today who had the privelege of a 'parade' lap or two of the circuit at Apex in your bus. To quote him
"First fast bay I've been in. For some reason I get that a lot more than I do a Splitty - how does that work? It more or less went round the corners." 8)

This is such a dumb question... EVERYONE knows people only buy EBs because they can't afford a split. Well that's what I tell people anyway.

I thought you had a split Ollie. Or was it just some creative use of masking tape? ;)

I sold my bay to buy a splitty.

Drove it.

Sold my splitty to buy a bay

Expensive experiment like

some interesting points it all comes down to who prefers comfort to looks from what i am reading so far, i have had 6 splits now and i never once since the age of 14 wore hair gel  but i get the point, posing factor. I love my split and will enjoy using the bay while i finish it, hopefully i will be in a financially viable situation to keep em all. I always said there was only one bay i would ever own that was tonic, so when it came up for sale i bought it. If it was not for that i would not of got into early bays but now am glad i have been opened up to the merits of them. But if i only had one bus what would it be........ a split probably if i am honest

I'm amazed that on a specialised early bay forum, so many early bay owners are confessing that they'd rather have a splittie!

Splitscreens are just a bit too much, if you ask me. Showy, even. And that's coming from an essex boy!

For looks alone, I'd take a nice understated early bay every single time. No question about it.

bay :?

split :?

bay :?

split :?

A bay every time
If some one were to give me a split id sell it to buy an early micro bus or a panel..
Well thats the plan with the t4 one day sell for an early bay micro/panel
they just don't do it for me
i like me walk threw the an the lay out an ya not all cramped up

plus, without sounding numptyish, they have a much happier face on the front :-D:-D:-D

Early bay....every day....any day
I love the view out of the front
The ride
Their subtlety
And there are less of them :D

Early bay for me. Could have got a splitty, but needed the pop top for the kids. Keeper now and my most prized possession! I would love and early air cooled t25 as well though :msn4:

Me: "I have a old volkswagen camper"
Anyone in a pub ever: "oh!, a splitscreen?"
Me: "No!, a bay window"
Anyone in a pub ever: "oh, not a real one then"
Me:

i would like to have an early split but probably because i haven't owned one.
although currently thinking of selling for a early beetle

Splits are for showing
Bays are for camping
If you have kids there is only 1 choice.
Early Bays also look great when lowered
