Starter Motor for Type 4 1700 Engine - Where can I get one

I had a spare 1600 type 1 start motor but it will not fit my Type 4 gearbox. The shaft is too long by about 5mm. So does anyone know where I can buy a decent one. Tried VW Heritage, GSF etc. and none list one for the Type 4 Engine and Gearbox.

Yes found that one thanks but a bit expensive for a unbranded one

Alas the word "expensive" will be found when purchasing anything for a type4 motor :mrgreen:

Try calling Peter Good to see if he has a rebuilt bosch
