why is is my bus will start perfectly one minute, and then refuses to fire at all the next. Gave it a run this morning with no problem, went to move it this afternoon, she started and ran for a minute or two, then refused to fire again. Turned over but not a cough or splutter. Left it for half an hour tried again, still no joy. Battery now flat! Got to leave her now till next week. just so frustrating!!
got petrol !

I was taught that 90% of engine problems are usually ignition related so I usually start there, points closed up or burnt out condensor, connections on coil etc. Also check carb fuel cut off solonoid. If you're around later on in the week you can bring it round and I'll take a look if you want? Thats if you can get it going.

Get someone to turn ignition on and off whilst you listen for the fuel solonoid on the carb clicking this will also confirm you have live to the coil. But I suspect your points need adjusting or changing.

i am away till the weekend, then got a do at the outlaws, so will be sunday before I can even start to look. Spoken to a guy here (40 odd yr experience of dubs)who has suggested a problem with the ignition switch. he told me how to test for it but I probably wont remember what he said by the time i get back! Seems feasable, was starting first turn, running nicely then not a cough or splutter! ,I may give you a shout see how i get on!!n

Actually got her started today!had no power at the LT side of the coil, but had power at the ignition switch. Put a wire from battery to the coil and she fired up straight away. just got to find where I have a break /short, although my guess is the fuse box, all been out recently when I fitted new stereo,
