Steering Box Peg adjustment

we are just checking over my steering box. does anybody know how tight the nut on the worn and steering gear that holds the taper rollers has to be. Is there a torque setting for it or do you just tighten up /nip it up and then turn over the lock tab.

Mmhm, It's a silly figure. 22 inch pounds.

I'd love to give you the manual extracts, but for copyright reasons I probably shouldn't. If you look for it online though- something like "bentley vw type 2 manual pdf" you should get a copy. Probably on a site from the netherlands. I would, of course, urge you to buy it. It's a really good book.
