Hi

Can anyone advise what this is:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/vw-transporter-t2-early-cross-over-bay-steering-cover-under-tray-/140935421521?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item20d067de51" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am looking for a cover to protect the various bits under cabin (steering) - this is also described for same job but different shape

http://www.customandcommercial.com/vw-baywindow/repair_panels/chassis--and--underside_parts/genuine_vw_front_center_belly_pan_under_pedals_used_68-72_10983/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I like the price of the top item - would it do the trick - the seller confirmed by email it is for an early bay, or is the bottom item the correct part...?

Many thanks

Matthew
('68 RHD)

You'll want the second one. Not sure if they are different for RHD/LHD thought, I'm guessing not.

You can probably find one cheaper in the for sale section at some point, depends how desperately you want one. I haven't had one on mine since I got the van although I've had one in the shed for over a year now :roll: should really get round to fitting it I guess

There is a third type as well which is like the first one but with the corners trimmed,

Aren't the smaller ones for later buses? I'm not sure when they changed (70 maybe?) But a 68 should be the larger one I believe

Thanks Mickey - That's a helluva clean underneath - will be getting mine Waxoyl'd very soon - then covered - tho I don't expect to use it much in winter - it seems like a no brainer to protect the mechanisms with the cover...

Didn't realise how bad mine was till I saw yours! Cheers mate !

(Yours is LHD ? with the power bulge on the left ? so there are different between LHD and RHD pans
