Hi

about to have mine removed to fit new bushes but suspect it might not survive can anyone point me in the direction to get a replacement or maybe sell me one if necessary. Found one at Mechtechnic, anyone used them.

Hi bud, you might need to go steady as you are right on the cusp of the time that the splines changed on the steering column so gently take yours off and count your splines, Mark one with tippex so you know where you started.

May 1971 so isn't that just earlybay, did earlybays change too?

Hiya, not a hundred percent sure but I’d go along with May 1971, however there’s a big possibility that whatever was in the parts bins went into lots of vans either side of the official change over date, especially ckd types, plus what was available after some accident damage for repairs.
