Time to start gearing up for the summer - I want to replace the radio in my westy with something more modern,
I'm not keen on cutting up interior panels to fit speakers though...

What alternative have you got to inspire me? ;)

clements has got a cool set up in his bus... i'm guessing he too didn't want to mess his OG interior about, so he's taken an old american cooler and mounted a bose system in there which he connects his ipod to... frankly i thought it was going to sound rubbish but for what it was it sounded amazing and we rocked da show at EBI2 fo' sho' 8)

(until he put 'just jack' on and emptied the dancefloor quicker than you could say 'ivan')

That is a good idea - thinking inside the box, I like it.

number two on the list of my most-hated mis-used expressions :|

random owner 1 - "i've fitted fiat brava rear lights to my bus".

random owner 2 - "wow, that's thinking outside of the box".

me - "shut up".

number one on the list ?

*very unique*

:x

it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness. it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity. it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness. it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair. we had everything before us, we had nothing before us. we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way - in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only... so why'd you wanna go and put starz in their eyes ?

*catastrophic*

(what must 'da prez' have thought of us ?)

Mr Councillor, could you please increase the font size of your end of post comments. Even with my new reading glasses I find it nigh on impossible to read said comments. I have to click on 'quote' to enlarge the script to a legible size and then 'cancel' after reading. Hardly a major task I know, but a larger typeface initially would save me (and surely others) a degree of inconvenience.
Thank you.
Oh yes, regarding your most hated phrases, seen in many a classified ad for second hand cars, how about 'immaculate for year'

My bad

It seemed that it would be so right, but was so wrong. How can I ever recover.... :?

It works well - an old Rola Cola coolbox, a pair of Bose 12v PC speakers, lash them into a suspended shelf and power via a camping shop 240v 3 pin plug to cigarette lighter socker adapter (all tucked away, of course) and just plug into the *** lighter/power socket as needed. Just looks like a cool box when not in use, too. :)

do you know, i'm so glad you brought this up :p

the way i see it is, if i AM going to add something at the end, especially if it's a little bit contentious, then why not have a little bit of fun with it ? sure, i have no doubt that the majority of people who read my posts just think *cock* but for every 99 of them there's a pete b, and i think we who *can* be arsed to go through the rigmarole of clicking on 'quote' not only get 'value for money' but possibly also feel like members of an exclusive, select club ? almost like something enid blyton herself might have set up in the 1950s, only without the casual racism

as for the 'clicking on quote' method, can you believe that i had to explain how to do that to a moderator for heaven's sake, in order for them to read this very post, this very afternoon

that's the beauty of it mate; there's nothing to see... it just looks like the kind of old american cooler you'll see on a hundred roofracks up and down the land this coming VW show season, and believe me, i should know... i've studied it very closely, especially when customs officials were ransacking it at dover in july :x

Hmmm........ That offer of bringing back someones "case" from Amsterdam on that lads weekend away, seems to have some of it's initial charm now doesn't it???
I guess it was hidden well, just dont really want to know at this time of the morning as to where it may have been hidden........

that's the irony; because it was clements' bus, whilst they were searching it all they could find were individually wrapped packets of biscuits and obsessively ordered cutlery but it was still a nerve wracking experience... i'm *grown up* and have responsibilities, and can well do without any customs drug slurs :x

Ill get some pics up!

(I went through customs twice last weekend without a sniff of interest from the 'officials' - obviously the lack of long haired lanky mentallist in the van meant I was 'nothing' to them!)
