Hi Everyone,

I'm off to Europe on thursday. I have a few things to get done before then and one of them is wiring a stereo.

Can anyone tell me if I'm missing something before I attempt this. I plan to:

Run a wire from battery to continuous power wire on stereo
Run wire from ignition side of fuse box to ignition wire on stereo
Ground the ground wire on stereo

Then there's the other connector which has all the speaker wires, I plan to snip the left front and right front wires from the connector and run them to my speakers.

Should that be job done?

Another issue I have is that I don't have any wire and everywhere closes before I finish work. I have a huge extension lead, would it be ok to use the wire in that or would the gauge be too thick? I have to admit I used some to fix my cigarette lighter yesterday and it looks to be working fine.

Couldn't find a live feed with ignition off so and my hazards didn't work with the ignition off so I thought something was up. But found a spare live and wired to that like you suggested. Works a treat now! The wire out of the extension lead worked fine. Just made sure I fused the wire coming from the battery feed.

So there is one wire to the ignition feed and one coming from the battery feed. Am I right in saying this setup burns out the coil if you listen to the radio with the key turned one click?

Thanks,
Shea.
