Sounds like youre all set. So no winter service schedule of taking the engine out for a rebuild this year :D :D :D

Been a pretty hectic time here in Lincoln. My career in the RAF has come to an end after 22 years, we have been renovating the house and garage and the bus has been away in storage.

Can’t wait for summer to arrive so we can get out there again.

One of the big reasons for updating the house was to rejig the garage and fit some sort of ramp for working on the bus and other vehicles. Nothing actually to report on the bus so far although it was fair to say it fired up on the button after not being moved for months.

So here are a few pics of the work.

How the garage was originally.

No excuse now for not sorting out a few niggling jobs - catch you in a field somewhere soon

WOW - nice job on the garage and so jealous of the 4 post lift.....................

Nice work Stu.
I've been working out how to do pretty much what you've just done and fit a single door, loose the room above the garage and fit a ramp!!
Must be mad or addicted to playing with vehicles!
I best finish the new engine swap first...
Cheers
Al

Congratulations Stu! Looks awesome mate... I'm totally envious but happy for you!

Well nice. Happy retirement from crab air 😉 got a new job yet

Yep got a new job and a decent rise in salary working in the Automotive Guided Vehicle industry - robotic forklift trucks

Cheers for the kind words - ive ordered a fresh set of shocks so will have another update soon when they arrive and are installed.
Working on the bus is so much easier now with the ramp

Nice

Recently purchased a Sealey Jacking beam for the ramp so I can raise the bus independently whilst it’s up in the air.

The suspension has been on the bus since we got it and was pretty shot after all the miles along with the increased speed we are seeing with the new setup so I’ve ordered a full set of Protech Shocks which seem to be awesome bits of kit now they have arrived.

So today after spending the week in Newcastle then Southern Ireland I decided to spend a few hours on the bus replacing all the shocks for the new billet items.

No road test today however we are heading to Van Jamboree next weekend and that’ll suffice as a road test. I’ve set the shocks in the mid position so have adjustment either way depending on how it rides fully laden.

Onto the pics

Jacking beam - delivered from eBay and it’s great for actually using the ramp for work rather than just storage

Shocks arrived around 10 days after ordering - easy process to be fair, measure your shocks with the bus on the ground top to bottom bolt and send the measurements in. Made to measure goodness

If anyone wants the Spax shocks give me a shout. Could be used for setting up purposes or as a spare if your running Spax already

Can’t wait for camping next weekend - civvy life is hard work compared to the RAF although I’m much better off now!
