summer and winter running

do you need to reset the carb or anything else to accommodate summer and winter driving??
i wonder because of starting issues after initial drive(see earlier post struggle to fire).
carb is 34pict3 solex fresh rebuild/rebushed last summer,or could it be valve clearances need doing,just completed 500 mile run in period,but surely if the valves are the culprit it would not fire cold or warm????
got total stock carb n oilbath filter n thermostat.

You should check the tappet clearance regularly after a rebuild, would check now as the heads/ seats settle.
You should not need to touch the cabs between summer and winter.

Maybe a bit of debris, check the jets could be dirt in the idle circuit check the 4 small holes in the carb throat and broddle some fuse wire to see if the are clear - that's where the problem was with mine also the automatic choke, check if the rivets that hold the contact on it are not loose because again mine was.
