Hello,

I am just after a bit of advice on my threaded sump plate, the part that is attached to the engine. I have seen that you can buy 8mm to 6mm stepped studs, then tap an 8mm thread in the threaded hole, but i cannot find this stepped stud anywhere. I have called my local engineering places and they don’t have any, and i can’t find them on any of the online parts retailers.

Does anybody know if this is the best way to go about fixing the problem and do you know where i can get my stepped stud?

Thanks again.
Graham

Thanks for the reply - do you know if they are available in the UK? - I know they can ship to me, but really need to use my van before their shipping times.

Would it be best to go to a local engineers and ask them to machine me one?

Thanks agian.
