My new 914 tacho arrived today 8) - I wondered if anyone could confirm which wires connect where:

I have connectors on the back labelled:
" +12 " (positive feed from ignition?)
" 1 " (Earth?)
" - " (Negative from coil?)

Any help greatly appreciated :D

;)

dude, the +12v is the positive feed to power up the unit. off the back of your ignition find the wire that becomes live (+12v) hwne you trun the ignition on. the wire that feeds the coil ideally.

1, earth, is just that earth. connect this to the meatl work of the van somewhere convenient.

' - ', neagtive on coil. this is the signal wire for the tacho from your coil. the negative, '-' side of the coil is the points side. what i mean there is it's the terminal on the coil that the wire coming from the points/distributor connects to on the coil, capisce?

i can't, but i'm sure someone will post up an image to clear things up etc.

so do those tachos fit in the spare clock hole?

these guys are running 1 to neg coil and - to chassis
