I had an American / South American one that I got from social media where someone was getting them made to help out with work for some underprivileged ladies somewhere. I think that the basic tent itself was approximately a bit less than fifty quid , then you had to make your own bed base and leg support. The original idea was Dutch from memory and was called an Amascador or similar, but my memory ain’t great . I’ve seen a few different versions but the fly in the ointment is the bed itself can only be about five foot six if you want to leave the back seat in the upright position . So I put it up a couple of times but never built the base bit properly. So if you cover it in three or four inch foam, then stack those pads up with the base etc, it takes up a lot of boot space for very little gain which I should Imagine is why they’re not awfully popular across the board.
Ozziedog,,,,,,,I’ll try and dig out the name of it
Hi Ozziedog, thanks for that I believe your right about the name. I was interested only because I thought it would be a good idea. Maybe I should give up on that and have ago at making a rack and pinion steering rack kit for my 72 Bay
Had a look , looks easy but Ozziedog made a good point about storage of all those parts and as a 6ft 1 guys would still need to put the seat down . But thanks for the info
That is exactly the one I had. It would seem that they’ve gone up quite a bit in price. I sold mine on to a lady of a slightly lesser stature than myself a year or two ago.
Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,, I had the same thoughts I reckon.
