Hi guys ,

Has any of you rebuilt a steering box ?

I have taken the box apart to check and see if the peg had any wear to it and the peg has tapered bearings on top and below pics below .

Is there specific way to replace this bearings ? i have tried using some grease to hold them in place but when you try to fit the bottom set the just fall out .

there was a thread that mentioned these bearings but did not explain how they fitted them :

ever had one of those jobs you wish you never started ? :?

any help is truly appreciated :D

Thanks guys

I planned to, bought the seals and new pin then decided against it and had mine refurbed by power-steering.co.uk. But spent an age looking at how to do it: this write up was pretty ideal -
