just watched text santa, and the charities that it helps and those that need more than we do one of the charities was for hospices and one lady that was getting support was dying of cancer and was leaving her 3 year old behind

so lets remember those in need this Christmas

merry Christmas everyone and a happy new year

Instead of texting santa why don't you look at fostering? We did, not something that should be done on a whim but it means you can do your bit for society.

a work colleague has fostered kids for years, incredibly noble thing to do, and has my full admiration - got my hands my full with 3 of my own at the moment though :D

Although I think fostering is a very worthwhile thing to do, I think donating can be an incredible support for children in many ways.

Everyone should find their own method to give back to society, the key is to do something.

The issue is, where do you stop giving? Children's charities at home, Africa, Syria, Darfur. The list goes on and all are worth while but I think text santa is awesome. Maybe earlybay should look at doing something next Xmas to raise some money for this sort of thing? As to Fostering I was not being a sanctimonious git. I agree it's hard, my kids have grown up and we have decided to do it, not for all but if just one person reads this and thinks "let's look into it" then it's a good thing and well done Lobie for starting the thread

I agree we as forum should do something to raise some cash next year

ideas on a postcard.....................
