Well we set off for Latitude Festival in Southwold last Wednesday, our first trip out in the bus. Plan was to drive as far as I could before pulling into a campsite.
All ready to go:
Drove a few hours down the A1 and at around 10pm spotted a sign for a campsite so pulled off. Only around 5 static caravans and a two or three campers. A nice polite sign said to go see the warden Tony in one of the static caravans so we pulled up and knocked on his door. 'Tony' opens in a silk nighty, ill-fitting wig, *** in one hand. :msn4: We paid our money and bedded in for the night.
Woke up early the next morning to get an early start down to Southwold.
And made it to the beach huts!
Then onto the festival. All parked up next to loads of campers. Almost every other camper was a VW, loads of earlybays, lates, splitties. More here than I've seen at some VW shows!
Lily Allen!
Bus-galore!
Shame
Festival was excellent so on Monday morning we set off back into Southwold for the day. Weather was amazing!
Spot the bus!
Parked right on the front and got the camping chairs out for breakfast.
Croissants and Jam!
Then back home. Around 500 miles relatively trouble free although the servo needs looking at as the bus is cutting out when the brakes are applied.
All in all an excellent week and the bus performed admirably.
