 I've never lowered a beetle, but I'm sure you don't just hack bits off that are in the way

He doesent seem to realise the cuts, left like that, will encourage fatigue cracks on the spring plate, which not only holds the car up but also locates the rear suspension by triangulation.

The video is a clear demonstration why modified vehicles are often viewed with suspicion by prospective buyers.

Little wonder insurance companies often ask if an engineers report has been done on modifications -you can understand why with tools like this working on their car

Being a "yank" I can assure you that only certain areas of the country have people that would do that. I now have added "bodger" to my British lexicon.

i might be stooopid and didn't see "part2" but to me it looked like it was going to be put back in the original position or am i wrong???....

have been in the past but i don't tell the missus cos i is always rite!! according to her grace!!

He was lowering it 2 inner splines. The rear hub carrier went back on the spring plate in the original position but he gas cut half way through them. Could not be arsed to remove he drive shafts.
You should also see his vid on "body-off" resto and floor pan replacement... Total shocker.

What a legend!

I love his style, working under cars in shorts and flip flops

Hacking that carrier was so bad, and so unneeded, but generally, did he never watch the video back and just think .... 'this is a bit ****?'

Ive seen other how to videos on the tube, and it amazes me when people show how to do something simple, but drop a tool, or the camera/phone falls over or whatever, and they don't restart but just carry on .... you end up watching minutes of someone faffing about just so you can see how to reset a service warning or something

I love how in the comments somebody asks him how to do it on a "super"... And his response? "I don't know, I've never done a super".
Despite having done it on video. In that video. Right above the comments.
