so i was down the van zipping of the tacks to try and remove my sliding door sills and caught the 1mm cutter going the wrong way around. it jumped out of my hands and landed on my knee - still spinning. luckily though it landed as if i was sanding not cutting my leg:

i think if it had landed the other way i would have been in deep trouble.

I loved it, the first thing my mum said was, "i wish you would be careful".

my response, "I had my goggles on!"

you are lucky , bet it stings like eck though . once had a finger stuck between the grinding wheel and the rest on a tool grinder , that did sting

and its a massive ouch from me!

I have had the angle grinder down to the bone before and that aint nice.

Keep them goggles on doood!

I got a nice tattoo off my wirebrush attached to my drill...
It wasn't even spinning fast, but my skin didn't agree with that :)
the bugger got caught in my sweatshirt and wreaked havoc

i dropped my grinder on the deck tonight with one of those grim reaper twist knot wire wheels it went off like a nutter down the workshop. i had two other grinder incidents, the guard dropped off my 9inch grinder at work at full tilt and seized it imediately. it whipped out of my hands and shot across the room. the second time it simply snagged while grinding a gate, span me round then dug itself under my knee cap. no blood, just smell and big hole

seems like injuries are power for the course where grinders are concerned :D

A few years ago, i walked into my dads workshop and my dad had a new disc shatter with several bits embedding into him, i was only a youngster and had just walked onto the shop floor. He later told me that a large chunk had just missed my head and stuck in the door im glad i didnt remember. :D

It's not just the grinders themselves - about a month ago I was cutting some steel with my grinder and didn't realise that I'd set fire to my trousers!!!
I've now got a lovely scar at the top of my leg where I had to peel my trousers off the charred flesh.

I did have my goggles on though!

;)

Only just found this one ouch....

Had an incident with a grinder with a harsh wire brush attached, it got tangled up in my top and took two hands to hold it, couldn't switch off on the grinder as switch had been playing up, the grinder wanted more flesh, the only way I could turn it off was to let go with one hand and unplug from the extension cable. It was bloody hard to hold got away with cuts to the belly...ouch lesson learn't fix the switch...
