My speedo runs too fast, it gets progressivly faster the faster I go, at about 60MPH it goes off the clock . Is there any adjustments or anything I can do , apart from replacing it . Cheers Chris  :)

Make sure the end is pushed firmly into the LHS hub and the instrument end is finger tight and not cross threaded. If memory serves at the hub end there is a small rubber bush that locates it into the hub this might have gone.

what size tyres are you running? they make a difference when you change them.
speedo cable may be on its way out too
you can get the speedo recalibrated, try speedy cables... they advertise in practical classic

Yeah all connected up right , running 195-75-14, I would have thought if anything being over 30 years old it would run slow due to wear , not fast !
Any other idears ? Cheers Chris  :)

has it been that way since you've had the old girl?

Has the speedo been repaired ? (possibly using KPH donor parts)

Is it a smooth accelleration or does it jump in small / large steps?

Theres plenty of refurbishers advertised in the classic car/mechanics mags that should be able to offer some guidance.

before you fix it, get someone to take a pic of the speedo while you are driving, could be useful for bragging rights at the next earlybay meet
