tools and tips

hi in the morning im going to chanage a friends flywheel oil seal.(1700 engine)
are there any tools that i may need to do this job??? that are not in a diy mechanics tool kit???

also any tips to make the job easy?

You'll need a flywheel locking tool, and a big torque wrench as the flywheel has to be torqued up to 217lb/ft, otherwise just standard tools and a but of grunt.

It is a type4 engine (1700), so just a locking tool and a socket set and torque wrench will do. No big gland nut to undo, just 5 smaller bolts at much lower torque.

No need for a locking tool either if you dont have one. Flywheel can be held by a friend with a pry bar or large screwdriver against the gear wheel and one engine stud.
