At long last i got the camper moving up and down the road today with fresh brakes all round with a hint of new fluid and a dash of sharp handbrake, but.................!!!

As i went to reverse down the drive the gearstick totally gave up the ghost and starting spinning around!

After closer inspection the ball had totally come out of the front rod housing and disengaged every gear. Also i cannot get a consistent 2nd 4th and reverse!! I have situated the ball back into its housing for the fourth time and its still not having it!! The pin and spring in the ball are mooving freely but when i go for reverse it seems to pop out and i lose all gears and the stick will spin round to left!!!

If anyone could shed any light on this pain in the arse for me it`ll be most appreciated!!!

Thanks in advance

Ive had problems with mine also , ive renewed the bush at the front, the plate under the gearstick and the rear coupling , it has improved things alot but not enough . The Heritage Cat has some good exsploded diagrams .Work in progress at the moment :)

Have a look at the guide pin mounting bracket. You'll need to take the front cover panel off underneath. The guide pin goes into the front mounting bush to hold all the front stuff in place and without the pin there it's pretty much impossible to change gear. It may be that the bracket has become detached.

AHA!!!!! Jobs a goodun!! The front coupling rod hadn`t situated correctly so after some WD and swearing i`ve managed to get every gear

I must say this is a monumental day in me owning my camper as its the first time i`ve ever driven it(except on and off trailer) and god what an experiance!!!

I am really excitied now. There is now light at the end of this 15 month tunnel     :D :D :D :D
