hey all,

I did a search but not throwing any answers :(

I have the volksbolts new fuel line for twin carbs (when i get to doing it  ) and
was wondering,

presumably you feed the fuel line into the engine compartment as normal (i will be putting filter over gearbox)
but am i correct in beleiving after moving my filter outa the engine compartment I will now have a T junction
for a twin carb setup ??

Any tips peeps

cheers

Correct, you run the line direct from the tank to the filter, then from the filter to the pump. From the pump you then run it to your twin carbs using a T junction. I have positioned mine behind the fanshroud. Making sure it has no chance of coming into contact with the fan.

I did this....

That copper tube looks neat! :D

Yeah it was my Dad's idea and doing, he just decide to do it when I was out somewhere. It works well, keeps everything tidy and where it should be.

I ran a copper line from one carb to the other...

I'm not a fan of long runs of rubber fuel hose. :)

hi guys, merry crimbo, just seen your thread.how do you fit the copper pipe?what kind of barb/connecter from the 't' piece and so on at the carb end?
regards.

That was going to be my original way of doing it but I was advised against it as apparently copper can work harden and fracture over time.

Hi Sharky, I just used straightforward hard line with hose clips in the same way as the original fuel line (i.e. fuel hose clips and rubber connections). I've not got a T piece on my carbs as Dellorto DRLAs can be run with the fuel line going to one carb and then across to the other in low power applications.

Kadron carbs came with metal T pieces and connectors similar to brake line fittings, but I suspect rather larger inner diameter.

Sorry, didn't mean Copper as such. It's a Copper/Nickel blend known as Cunifer, designed for automotive use for brake and fuel lines, and far less prone to work hardening. :)

Fuel filter should be close to the pump rather than under the fuel tank ,the pump then doesn't have to work as hard to draw the fuel through. All fuel lines should be automated grade fuel lines and should be checked and replaced immediatley if there is any sign of fracture as this is the major cause of engine fires. there are also AN fittings and Stainless steel braided hose but make sure you buy it from a good Motor sport supplier and not some cheap crap of Ebay

^^^This. I will maintain to until my dying day that putting up under the tank is a bloody daft idea.
