On the way back from Skye, having done about 1500 miles, I noticed the wear on the front offside tyre was odd. The inner third is nearly bald but the rest of the tread is fine. The tyres have only done about 9000 miles!

I haven't noticed this before but cannot be sure when the problem occurred although the van went through it's MOT 4 weeks ago.

The front n/s one is fine. What would cause this?

First check for wear or damage.

Get somebody to waggle the steering wheel while you are under the bus and look to see if there is play in the track rod ends. Also check they are not bent.

Jack up the front and check wheel bearings for excessive play by waggling the wheels.

If those things check out as ok and the front wheels don't have a lot of negative camber then it means you have too much toe out and it needs setting.

Thanks for the replies
I've checked for play in the steering rods: none also jacked van up wheel has no play bearings are quiet as well. Must be the wheel is set wrong toeing out and I can only assume it's been like it for a long time although I've only just noticed it.
